Stardew Valley Player Makes Helpful Discovery After 250 Hours

A Stardew Valley player is sharing a discovery they made in the game after having spent 250 hours playing. Stardew Valley contains many secrets, and some of its game mechanics go unnoticed by fans, no matter how long they've been playing.

Stardew Valley's 1.6 update added a lot of new content to the title, but this particular discovery has been part of the game for a while. Still, those who have never thought to check in at their houses while playing may have been unaware of this fact, much like this player was.

Stardew Valley fan MoaningShrimp shared their discovery with fellow fans that they could regain energy by resting in their bed without sleeping for the night. Beds can of course be used to recover energy overnight, requiring players to be tucked in by 2 am if they don't want to suffer an energy penalty the next day or lose valuable items and cash, depending on where they're located when the clock strikes 2. However, some may not have known that the bed can also regenerate energy gradually just by lying in it in multiplayer mode.

Other Stardew Valley players lamented that this isn't the case in single player mode. One suggested that it's a way to compensate for the fact that the game doesn't pause time when performing certain activities. In single player mode, if a player does something like reels in a fish, time freezes until the process is complete. However, due to the nature of having multiple players acting at the same time, the game won't do this in multiplayer mode. While it does help to keep things fair, the ability to regenerate energy can be a big boost, especially early on when players have a low energy pool and limited access to energy restoring foods in Stardew Valley.

Other players were quick to point out that this type of regeneration is also possible in the spa located north of the mountains. However, the spa isn't accessible from day one, and it's also a hassle to get to when players don't yet have a horse in Stardew Valley or other travel
