Some Helldivers 2 Players Aren't Logging Out to Keep Their Spot

Helldivers 2 players are calling for an AFK auto-kick feature to be implemented after many users reveal they are exploiting a simple trick to avoid log-in queues. While the new Helldivers 2 has proved to be wildly popular, its massive appeal has come with its fair share of problems as well.

Since its February 8 release, Helldivers 2 has struggled with stability, crashing, and matchmaking issues. Fortunately, Helldivers 2 has been releasing regular updates that are slowly but surely resolving these problems, but many users are still experiencing frustrating issues that can sometimes lead to progression loss. In further efforts to remedy these problems and stabilize its servers, Helldivers 2 implemented a cap of 450,000 concurrent users over the weekend, which led many fans to be affected by the game's login queue.

To avoid the long wait times for logging in to Helldivers 2, some fans are reporting that they are simply leaving their game on and logged-in during all hours of the day so that they can jump right back into the action when they want to. Of course, this strategy only adds to the wait times for players who choose to log-in the proper way. To solve this issue, many Helldivers 2 fans are calling for Arrowhead Game Studios to implement some sort of AFK auto-kick feature. Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt acknowledged fans' requests by stating that he's already brought up the potential feature with the Helldivers 2 development team. While it's possible that the team is already working on such a feature, a timeline for its release is not yet known.

It's not particularly surprising that Helldivers 2 is running into server issues after masses of gamers flocked to the game. Over the weekend, Helldivers 2 overtookCall of Duty and Fortnite by becoming PlayStation's most-played game. And over on Steam, Helldivers 2 again broke its concurrent player peak by reaching over 409,000 users on February 18. Pilestedt recently explained that the game's absolute limit is 500,000
