Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 Hardware Shipments Have Leaked Additional System Specs

According to some rumors about the next Nintendo console, the Switch successor could include RAM that puts it within range of the Xbox Series S while in Docked mode, but with a few differences between the systems. The same rumors also state that, while the Switch 2's specs remain unconfirmed by Nintendo, the system could use DLSS to bridge the gap between other current consoles.

The rumors are the latest amid a swirl of speculation surrounding Nintendo's plans. While all rumors are to be taken with a grain of salt, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed on social media on May 6 that the Switch's successor would be revealed by the end of the current fiscal year. This means that the name of the next Nintendo console will be made public no later than March 31, 2025. Furukawa also confirmed that the next Nintendo Direct will air in June 2024, focusing on Switch titles scheduled to launch in the fall and winter of 2024, but that the Switch 2 would not be mentioned during the broadcast.

The Switch 2's alleged RAM specs may have slower speeds than the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, but it boasts more than the 10 GB available on the Xbox Series S. By comparison, the PS5 and Xbox Series X have 16 GB of GDDR6 SDRAM, with bandwidth speeds capping at 448 GB per second on the PS5. However, Neoxon619 clarified that the clock speeds of the Switch
