Switch 2 Will Be Unaffected by Chip Shortages, Nintendo Won’t Commit to a FY2025 Release

After endless speculation, Nintendo finally said something concrete about their plans for a Switch successor as part of their most recent earnings report, promising to announce the Switch 2 (or whatever it ends up being called) sometime during this fiscal year, which extends until the end of March, 2025. There are rumors that the Switch 2 will be unveiled this Fall and release in March of 2025, but nothing has been confirmed by Nintendo themselves.

While not exactly a shock, Furukawa also confirmed there will still be an emphasis on offering physical games for Switch 2,
