Rumor: Fortnite Could Be Crossing Over With Acclaimed 2014 Indie Game

The Binding of Isaac creator Edmund McMillen has offered a new update about his talks with Epic Games regarding a Fortnite collaboration. The potentialFortnite crossover has surprising but charmingly innocent roots.

Back in December, McMillen responded to a fan's tweet asking about a potential collab with Fortnite, which the Binding of Isaac creator responded to with «Tell me who to talk to and I'll make it happen.» The tweet generated enough excitement that Epic reached out to the famed creator to explore such a thing, a development that McMillen confirmed back in January. However, since then, the rumor mill surrounding the potential crossover has died down, until now.

During a recent livestream, McMillen revealed that the talks went well with Epic, who seemed interested in bringing The Binding of Isaac to Fortnite. However, he also explained that he's unsure when or if the collaboration will actually happen due to Epic's full plate of plans for the game. Of course, these plans were not specified due to non-disclosure agreements, but fans probably aren't surprised that Epic has a long list of additions and crossovers planned for the massively popular battle royale. So it seems that if The Binding of Isaac does come to Fortnite after all, it probably won't be anytime in the immediate future.

Details recently leaked aboutFortnite's next collaboration, which is rumored to start sometime next month. The Avatar: The Last Airbender event will introduce a mini-battle pass that allows users to unlock an Aang skin, Appa glider, and more. Additionally, beginning on April 2, owners of the standard battle pass can complete quests to unlock a Korra skin, another character from the popular franchise. The enduring popularity of Fortnite has many franchises and individuals eager to be featured in the game, including some surprising figures.

Recently, Dr. Phil expressed his desire to be added to Fortnite in a TikTok video, which quickly went viral and currently sits at over 7.3 million
