Report Reveals New Details About Assassin's Creed Infinity's Live Service Hub

There have been several rumors surrounding Assassin's Creed Infinity for quite a while now, and it seems like Ubisoft is going for a novel live-service-based approach for the game. While similar speculations have floated around in the past, the most recent gives a better idea of how the elements will influence the future of the Assassin's Creed franchise.

The past few Assassin's Creed games have been quite divisive, starting all the way from the release of Origins. While a part of the community embraced the RPG elements, others wanted the game to stick to its roots. With the release of Assassin's Creed Mirage last year, Ubisoft opted for a more linear approach, but it ended up getting mixed reception at best. While there has been a lot of ambiguity about what approach Ubisoft will be taking with the franchise going forward, it seems like the developers are taking a totally different approach this time around.

A new leak by Insider Gaming sheds some more light on the live service hub that has been rumored for the franchise for so long. Apparently, Assassin's Creed Infinity will serve as the central hub for the series via which players will be able to access games like Assassin's Creed Red, Hexe, and Invictus, among others. This means that players will be able to seamlessly transition between the three games without having to start them individually.

Reiterating that the game will feature several live service elements, the report goes on to highlight «The Exchange» item shop, which will allow players to buy weekly and daily cosmetics. Another notable feature is Projects, which is described as a «mini battle-pass» for each character. This will reportedly be refreshed from time to time, serving as a means to keep players engaged when there is no new content on the radar.
