Red Dead Redemption May Finally Launch on PC, 14 Years After Its Original Release

Red Dead Redemption may finally launch on PC 14 years after its original release, judging from some recent findings.

As reported by Tez2 on X/Twitter, a screenshot showing a code string mentioning the PC version of the popular Old West-themed open-world game released back in 2010 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is making the rounds online. As Tez2 has yet to mention where this string has been discovered, we must take this PC port rumor with a huge grain of salt until more info comes in. [Update - The strings were found in Rockstar's launcher site file.]

While this PC port of Red Dead Redemption has yet to be confirmed, it's not like Rockstar Games denied its game would never be released on PC. Following the release of an updated port on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick did not deny its existence, saying that any game announcement is up to the developer, suggesting that something was indeed in the works.

Red Dead Redemption is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, as well as on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We will let you know more about the rumored PC port as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
