Red Dead Redemption PC Release May Not Be Imminent After All

The launch of Red Dead Redemption on PC may not be imminent, after all, as the code strings mentioning this version of the game in the latest version of the Rockstar Launcher were likely pushed earlier than intended.

On the GTA Forums, Tez2 revealed that the code strings mentioning the PC version of the popular open-world game were added early as a result of work that is being done on the launcher with the new branch, which was accidentally pushed to the public branch. As such, it is more probable that the strings were added to the dev builds rather than a build that is closer to the public launch, meaning that the release of Red Dead Redemption on PC may not be as imminent as originally thought.

Having waited 14 years already, a few more months waiting for Red Dead Redemption shouldn't be a long wait for PC players who have yet to experience Jon Marston's adventure or experience it with improved visuals over the original PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Take-Two Strauss Zelnick did not deny the existence of a PC port of the game last year, so it will likely be released at some point.

Red Dead Redemption is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, as well as on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We will let you know more about the rumored PC port as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
