PS5 Slim has been discounted by £70 in the UK

The PlayStation 5 Slim standard edition console has been discounted by £70 at selected UK retailers.

With Sony having knocked £60 off the console’s regular price of £479.99 until February 25 via PlayStation Direct, some retailers are matching the offer while others are running even better deals.

At the time of writing, Currys and Very were leading the market with a price of £409. The best deals we spotted on Monday included:

Sony began rolling its first major PS5 Slim discounts in Europe earlier this month. Having launched last November for €549.99, the console’s price has temporarily been reduced by €75 in a number of countries.

While Sony had previously hoped to ship a record 25 million PlayStation consoles during its current fiscal year ending in March, it said last week that it now expects to miss that target by four million units.

A new report calculates that Sony‘s value dropped by around $10 billion last week, following its revised PS5 sales forecast but also partly due to a drop in operating margin in its gaming business.
