Helldivers 2 was the UK’s best-selling game in February

Helldivers 2 was the UK’s best-selling game in February following an impressive launch.

That’s according to data from GSD, which covers digital sales from most major publishers and all physical sales, published on GamesIndustry.biz.

Bucking the trend, the Sony-published shooter saw its sales grow each week after its release on February 8.

Sales during the game’s first three weeks were just 28% lower than those of Sony’s record-setting Spider-Man 2 during its first three weeks of availability last year.

The PS5 version of Helldivers 2 accounted for 57% of its sales last month, with the remainder coming on PC.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which has failed to meet publisher Warner’s expectations, debuted at No.4 on the monthly chart.

Sales of the game during its first four weeks were down 20% compared to 2022’s Gotham Knights and 2021’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Ubisoft’s Skull and Bones was released on February 13 and charted at No. 8 based on its first two weeks of sales, which were 75% lower than those managed by fellow pirate game Sea of Thieves back in March 2018.

PS5 was comfortably the best-selling console in February, while Nintendo Switch marginally outsold Xbox Series X/S.
