Pokémon Scarlet & Violet TCG Surging Sparks is coming in November

The next expansion to the Pokémon Trading Card game, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks, has been announced.

The set will feature over 250 cards, making it one of the largest sets ever. New Tera Pokemon will be included, as will further ACE SPEC cards, which have been a popular addition to the competitive side of the trading card game.

The set will be released on November  8.

“Terawatts of electricity crash down from the sky in a tropical paradise, setting the stage for the supercharged Pikachu ex,” reads a description for the new set.

“With the power of a Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, it lights up the shoreline, revealing a parade of dragon Pokémon led by the towering Alolan Exeggutor ex! Archaludon ex and Latias ex round out the horde, while new ACE SPEC cards and more new Pokémon ex bring surprises of their own. Currents crackle and dragons roar in the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Surging Sparks expansion!”

This English language set is likely going to consist of cards found in Japan’s Paradise Dragona set, from which the first cards were shown off over the weekend.

Surging Sparks will be released in traditional TCG products, such as booster boxes, meaning it won’t be considered a “special set” and will be available in most retailers.

The next game in the Pokémon franchise, Pokémon Legends Z-A, was announced earlier this year.

The game, which will be the second Pokémon Legends game following Pokémon Legends Arceus, was revealed during a Pokémon Presents showcase last month.

Set for release in 2025, Pokémon Legends Z-A will see players revisit the Kalos region and Lumoise City.
