Pokémon Legends: Z-A's Starters May Have Already Leaked

A well-known source of leaks may have just dropped a hint for the starters. is currently in development and is the second game in the series, following. will take place in the world of, but its starters won't necessarily come from the same generation. This has led to much speculation regarding which starters players will be able to choose from for the upcoming title.

leaker Riddler_Khu (spotted by ComicBook) has shared a cryptic message on X that simply says «3 5 8.» Many are taking this message to be referring to the generation of each starter in If this is true, it suggests that the grass, water, and fire starters are, respectively, from the third, fifth, and eighth generations of the franchise.

As with all leaks, this one should be taken with a grain of salt. Riddler_Khu is known, as the name suggests, to speak in riddles. While they're a known source for leaks, they have a mixed track record and their hints seem intentionally vague, making it hard to pinpoint how good their leaks were. If Khu is right though, then the leak means the most popular starter predictions are incorrect.

The starters in were Rowlet, Oshawott, and Cyndaquil, all three of which were starters in previous games. The three starters originate in Gen 7, 2, and 5, respectively, and all three gained a new final evolution form for the Hisuian region where the game takes place. If the next game in the series continues the same pattern, then players can see three more Pokémon who have appeared as starting Pokémon in previous games, but with new regional final forms.
