This Destiny 2 fix is an all-timer: a gun designed to kill Barrier Champions was dealing 40% less damage to barriers and "not correctly" getting a 67% damage bonus

Sometimes your favorite live service game gets an update so head-turningly baffling that you just have to laugh. Enter Destiny 2 update 8.0.5.4, which arrived earlier today and, among other things I find less amusing, made a significant change to Eriana's Vow, an Exotic special hand cannon which was once the go-to pick for killing Barrier Champions, but later fell behind other options like Arbalest.

It took me 14 hours to 100% the amazing Metroidvania Ender Lilies, and just days later the dev announced that the 35-hour sequel launches in a few months

Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist will launch in full on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on January 22, 2025, roughly eight months after entering early access on Steam this past May. What's more, the developer boasts of "35 hours of content" in the finished version, which is a massive jump over the original game, Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, which Howlongtobeat rates at 12 hours for the main story, and which I finished with 100% completion and the true ending after 14 hours (NG+ shenanigans notwithstanding).

Elden Ring randomly buffed the famously overpowered Brass Shield after 2 years, and I have never been so desperate to ask Hidetaka Miyazaki "why"

The latest Elden Ring patch brought not-unexpected nerfs to the final boss of Shadow of the Erdtree and sizable buffs to some underwhelming gear, including a few of my personal favorites. Dutifully adding numbers to FromSoftware's notoriously nonspecific patch notes, Elden Ring players noticed that there's also a much more surprising change hidden in the list: the Brass Shield, hands-down the best medium shield in the entire game, got a pretty significant buff.

Gearbox marks 5 years of Borderlands 3 with another loot-packed Shift Code to help tide fans over: "We're excited to have you along for Borderlands 4"

Borderlands 3 is officially five years old as of today, September 13, and developer Gearbox is celebrating the milestone with another Shift Code dishing out a bunch of free loot. You have until October 13 to redeem it, and this code is only good for Borderlands 3, unlike the "most valuable" code in the series' history, which was recently uncovered by fans.

Helldivers 2 devs weren't kidding about huge buffs coming this month – the Railgun is about to utterly destroy large enemies: "We kind of quadrupled that"

The latest sneak peek of the big Helldivers 2 September 17 update brings good and glorious news for all Railgun enthusiasts. Developer Arrowhead "kind of quadrupled" its heavy-slaying Durable damage and jacked up its overcharge damage bonus, potentially taking us straight back to the armor-piercing days of old.

Austin Wood - 2 years later, Elden Ring players dig out their 'I beat Radahn before the nerf' stickers as early runs show FromSoftware really took a bat to Shadow of the Erdtree's final boss - gamesradar.com

2 years later, Elden Ring players dig out their 'I beat Radahn before the nerf' stickers as early runs show FromSoftware really took a bat to Shadow of the Erdtree's final boss

There's a bit of deja vu in the air, folks, because Elden Ring has nerfed Radahn. Not the OG Radahn, who was one of the first bosses to receive balance adjustments in 2022 when this mammoth open-world action RPG first launched, but Promised Consort Radahn, the final boss of Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard reveals a clever little solution to every RPG's companion problem

BioWare's latest Dragon Age: The Veilguard sampling platter serves up some picturesque walkthroughs of a few new spaces in the series' expanded universe, including several areas previously only hinted at in snippets of lore. That said, I'm more excited by the interplay between these areas and the "exploration abilities" of the game's companions, as well as BioWare's solution to the age-old problem of leaving your companions at home like some RPG Home Alone parody.

Austin Wood - Forget the final boss nerf, the new Elden Ring DLC patch just made a garbage talisman a must-have for some weapons and even buffed my favorite swords and spells - gamesradar.com

Forget the final boss nerf, the new Elden Ring DLC patch just made a garbage talisman a must-have for some weapons and even buffed my favorite swords and spells

The latest Elden Ring update took a nerf bat to the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC's infamous final boss, but for my money the most exciting entries in the patch notes are notable buffs to some cool but underwhelming gear. The biggest winner may be Rellana, one of the DLC's first and altogether best boss fights, whose entire suite of equipment has fittingly been buffed to the moon.
