Pokémon GO Mega Lucario Raids: Weaknesses & Best Counters

Mega Lucario is making its long-awaited debut in , four years after it was first hinted at by Niantic. This powerful Fighting/Steel-type Mega Evolution will appear as a Raid Boss for a limited time. That also means you'll be able to collect Mega Energy and Mega-Evolve your own Lucario to use on your team in future Raid Battles, where it's expected to become one of the best Fighting-type and Steel-type attackers in the entire game.

The first chance you'll get to battle Mega Lucario in is during the Mega Lucario Raid Day, which takes place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 11 AM to 5 PM in your local timezone. It will likely return during future events, but it's currently unknown when that will be. These battles are going to be some of the most difficult you'll encounter in the game, so it's important that you know Mega Lucario's weaknesses as well as the best counters to feature on your team.

Shiny odds in Pokémon GO work very differently compared to the rates in the mainline series. There are a few factors that make them so different.

Mega Lucario is a Fighting/Steel-type Pokémon, which means it's weak against Fighting, Fire, and Ground-type attacks. You should focus on putting together a team of Pokémon that belong to any of these typings, but make sure they also have movesets that match.
