PlayStation VR2 App Steam Store Page Has Gone Live

The PlayStation VR2 app Steam Store page has gone live today, providing more information on how users will be able to use Sony's VR headset on PC.

The page, which can be found here, also features some screenshots showcasing the setup process, and the app's release date, which is planned for August 7th, the same day the PC adapter will released at select retailers and on PS Direct. The store page also lists the system requirements, which are identical to those shared by Sony last month.

While the headset will retain its basic functionality on PC, the PlayStation VR2 experience on PC will not be the same as on PlayStation 5. Some key features, such as HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking and adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback, won't be supported. However, 4K visuals, a 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, see-through view, and foveated rendering should provide a more than acceptable VR experience with the many VR games available on Steam.

The PlayStation VR2 PC adapter will launch on August 7th worldwide. You can learn more about the headset in our review.

Only time will tell if the new technology is worth the investment but all of the design changes and new features make me excited for what's to come in the future for PlayStation VR2.
