PlayStation 5 New Beta System Software Rolls Out Tomorrow, Introducing New Remote Play Settings, Adaptive Charging

A new PlayStation 5 beta system software will start rolling out tomorrow, introducing new features to the system, which will eventually make their way to a future public system software update.

The new beta, whose access is limited to invited participants in select countries, introduces some new features, starting with personalized 3D audio profiles for headphones and earbuds. This new feature allows users to undergo a set of sound quality tests to analyze a large number of factors to create an audio profile that best suits their hearing.

The new PlayStation 5 beta system software also introduces some new Remote Play settings, allowing users to adjust settings per user and choose who is allowed to connect to a console via Remote Play. The third and final major addition is the introduction of Adaptive Charging, which can only be used on the new PlayStation 5 model to adjust the length of time that power is supplied to controllers based on their battery level. Adaptive charging applies to DualSense controllers, DualSense Edge controllers, PlayStation VR 2 controllers, and Access controllers. More information on these new features can be found on the official PlayStation Blog.

Sony seems to be working hard on the software side of things lately. Just yesterday, a new PlayStation 5 system software update went live, introducing a new feature that allows players to invite others using a URL of the multiplayer session and more.
