Razer forced to pay more than $1M in refunds for its RGB 'surgical N95 respirators' that were not N95 respirators

Back in January 2021, at the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Razer unveiled Project Hazel, a «surgical N95 respirator» with—of course—RGB lighting. There was just one problem: The Zephyr, as it came to be known, wasn't actually N95 rated at all, and that little oversight is going to cost the company more than $1.1 million.

If it was my money, this 14-inch OLED machine would be the gaming laptop deal I'd be clicking on today

Lenovo Legion Slim 5 | RTX 4060 | Ryzen 7 7840HS | 14-inch | 2880 x 1800 | 120 Hz | OLED | 16GB LPDDR5X | 1TB SSD | $1,479.99$1,049.99 at Best Buy (save $430)Though I am a big fan of Asus' new Zephyrus chassis for the G16, I am much more of a fan of the 14-inch form factor of this Legion 5 Slim. And, what's more, you get a bright, 400 cd/m² OLED panel with a decently high resolution as well. That and twice the storage that you'll find in a similarly priced Asus machine. This is a really tempting deal on the only sort of gaming laptop that I'd actually want to buy myself.

Dough Spectrum Black 27 review

It feels weird when you've got a shiny new gaming screen sitting on your desktop, with all the rich OLED-ness we've been wanting from our monitors, to find yourself pining for the old-school IPS screen it's just displaced. But that's where I am with the new Dough Spectrum Black screen.

The full Snapdragon X CPU line-up has now been unveiled, and according to Qualcomm's numbers it should put the fear of ARM into AMD and Intel's laptop divisions

Qualcomm has just taken the wraps off its new Snapdragon X range of laptop PC chips, giving us the full details of its first flush of ARM-based CPUs and a new lower-end model, too. The NEW Snapdragon X Plus processors will sit alongside the higher-spec X Elite chips, bringing the ARM architecture to the traditionally x86 dominated Windows desktop.

As promised, the US gov has whacked another GPU mole headed for China with new limits cooked up to kill the RTX 4090D

The US government has revised its sanctions (via Videocardz) on the level of GPU power it will allow to be exported to China. And it seems aimed specifically at stopping Nvidia selling its China-exclusive version of the RTX 4090 graphics card. With its «weighted TFLOPS» limit now being dropped down to 70 TFLOPS, that means both Nvidia's RTX 4090D and its H20 data centre GPUs will be unable to be exported to China without a specific license.

So, looks like Putin's ordered the Russian government to 'consider the issue of organising' domestic versions of the Steam Deck, SteamOS, and Steam itself (with a side order of Steam Machines)

Everybody wants to be like Gabe, right? That seemingly laid back attitude, that masterful command of his company, that super healthy bank balance, and that body. So, it's no wonder Russia's premier, Vladimir Putin, also wants to be like the great man, and so he's asked the Russian government to look into making him a Valve of his very own.

Elgato Facecam MK.2 webcam review

I wasn't expecting much from the new Elgato Facecam MK.2. It's apparently not really a sequel, and will just go on to replace the existing Facecam we loved so well. It's also a bit cheaper than the original cam launched at: The new one is starting at $150 while the MK.1 came out at $200.
