Warner Bros Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels briefly discussed Hogwarts Legacy 2 during Bank of America's 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference. Wiedenfels highlighted the importance of this sequel for the gaming division and provided a loose timeframe of a couple of years. Here's the exact quote as reported by Variety:
Yesterday, Undead Labs announced that State of Decay 2 is set to receive a final free update soon, its 38th since the game's launch. After that update, the Seattle-based developer will focus solely on the development of State of Decay 3. Update 38 will fix some long-standing bugs, add a few quality-of-life improvements, and, more importantly, it will permanently unlock all seasonal content.

Today, Hello Games is releasing a new No Man's Sky update titled Aquarius. As you can easily surmise, it is centered around water and more specifically it adds the long-requested fishing to the game. Sean Murray said in a press release that fans really loved the new water technology added in the Worlds Part I update a few weeks ago, inspiring the studio to add fishing next.
KONAMI is publishing a new game called Deliver At All Costs. A top-down action title developed by Far Out Games, a small indie studio started a few years ago in Gothenburg, Sweden, by three students, Deliver At All Costs is set in 1959 and sees players step into the shoes of Winston Green, a courier transporting 'unconventional cargo'. The debut title from Chinese developer Game Science sold 10 million copies in three days and crushed Cyberpunk 2077's record for the highest player concurrency on Steam registered by a single player game. CD PROJEKT's game reached 1.05 million concurrent players at its height, while Black Myth: Wukong, no doubt thanks to the massive Chinese community, has peaked at 2.41 million players, ranking second in the all-time peak concurrency Steam chart only behind PUBG: Battlegrounds.
Around a year ago, Bethesda Game Studios celebrated its best launch ever with Starfield, although that was partly because the sci-fi action roleplaying game was Bethesda's first big title to launch right away on Game Pass. Starfield received great reviews and continues to do well in terms of player numbers, although the game didn't perhaps resonate as much with the community as Bethesda would have liked.
Following an earlier tease, Harebrained has now unveiled its next game, a 'post-cyberpunk' survival horror RPG titled GRAFT. In development for PC (it will be released on both Steam and the Epic Games Store), it is themed around the idea of morphing the player character's body and what it does to them.
