Overwatch 2 Players Can Dig into a Trial for New Hero “Venture” This Weekend
Overwatch 2 Season 10 kicks off next month, but if you want to try out the season’s hew hero Venture early, you can do it this weekend. Venture, who Blizzard is touting at their first non-binary character, is a Damage hero and, overall, one of the more unique-looking characters Blizzard has served up thus far. Basically, they can burrow under the ground ala Bugs Bunny (or Mario in his Drill Suit I suppose) allowing them to sneak behind enemy lines then burst out to deal damage. You can check Venture out in action, below.

Not exactly the most realistic moveset, but I guess we already have a hamster in a ball, so who am I to complain? Here's a full rundown of Venture’s unique abilities…
Weapon and Ultimate
- Smart Excavator - Launch a seismic charge that bursts after a short distance
- Tectonic Shock - Send out damaging shockwaves
Passives
- Explorer's Resolve - Using abilities grants temporary shields
- Clobber - Quick melee deals more damage
Abilities
- Burrow - Move underground and become invulnerable. Emerge to deal damage
- Drill Dash - Dash forward, pushing enemies back
As Blizzard has announced, starting with Season 10 all heroes, including Venture, will be immediately available for free – no need to work through the battle pass. Previous post-launch Overwatch 2 characters Kiriko, Ramattra, Lifeweaver, Illari, and Mauga will also be made available. While Venture will be fully released as part of Season 10, a “time-limited trial” of the character will kick off tomorrow and run until the end of Sunday (March 31).
We don’t know the precise contents of Overwatch 2 Season 10 yet, but in addition to heroes all being unlocked, there will be new changes to how Mythic skins are earned, tweaks to core gameplay, and more. You can get more details here.
Overwatch 2 can be played on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and Switch. Season 10 officially kicks off on April 16.
