Overwatch 2 Player Spots Hilarious Detail on New Bastion Skin

Overwatch 2 hero Bastion recently got a new Rikimaru Ramen skin and an eagle-eyed player has noticed a funny little detail that the designers have managed to sneak in. As creative forms of artistic expression in the game, a good number of new Overwatch 2 skins are well-designed looks that go beyond mere palette swaps or simple additions to a costume.

Released in 2022, Overwatch 2 is currently going quite strong. In addition to an active player base numbering in the tens of thousands, developer Blizzard has also been busy expanding it by entering into partnerships with a wide range of brands, varying from niche animes to luxury cars, proving the game's resilient popularity. This has allowed the game's designers the freedom to explore a number of compelling ideas, such as this creative in-game skin for Bastion.

Redditor Calm-Key2837 shared their discovery on r/Overwatch, posting their in-game footage of Bastion's repair arm with the Rikimaru Ramen Legendary skin equipped. The repair arm happens to be shaped like a plastic fork, which lines up with the instant ramen cup noodle-themed design. While Bastion no longer uses the repair arm in the game (his classic Self-Repair ability was removed by Blizzard when it reworked the character for Overwatch 2), the feature is still used in his waving gesture, showing that the team really paid a lot of attention to detail here.

The Rikimaru Ramen skin for Bastion was introduced in Overwatch 2 Season 9 in February 2024, and while it looks good, some players in the Reddit comments had some sharp words to say about the choice. Most of the new skins introduced at the start of the season followed an eldritch horror theme that Blizzard loves evoking in its games, but the Bastion design didn't follow this trend for whatever reason. While some found the cup noodles concept cute, others were also slightly confused by it, partly because Bastion no longer uses the repair arm in his skill set as well.

Meanwhile, Blizzard isn't done making changes
