Overwatch 2 April Fools Update Adds Ridiculous New Mode for a Limited Time

Overwatch fans eagerly wait for the release of the April Fools Update every year, and the event is back with some hilarious changes. The Overwatch 2 event is well-known for the googly eyes as well as the comical voice lines, but fans look forward to the ability changes the most.

The next few weeks are going to be quite eventful for fans as Blizzard Entertainment will be releasing the highly anticipated Season 10 update for Overwatch 2. From the release of new hero Venture to the removal of battle pass restrictions, the update will likely change the meta of the game significantly. Right before that, the developers released a series of mind-boggling changes in Overwatch 2.

Blizzard Entertainment has given a thorough overview of what fans can expect from the funky new game mode. The first thing players will notice when they hop into the main menu is an all-new «Placeholder Text» tab. Upon clicking that, players will be able to find the Arcade mode under Balanced Overwatch. Coming to the changes, the customary funny voice lines and googly eyes are back, but it's the ability changes once again that have got fans excited.

Perhaps the most striking change that has got the community in splits is the changes to Overwatch 2's Mauga. The revamped version of Mauga has only 25 health, and his scale has been reduced to 50%. The developers even coined a name for this mini-version of Mauga, calling it «Smallga.» Ana's Sleep Dart seems to remind many players of the floating cheat code in Die Hard, and the added fall damage adds some utility as well.

Moira's Biotic Grasp has also been altered, with the functionalities of her primary and secondary fire being switched up. However, a lot of players seem to be having fun playing as Overwatch 2's Mercy. Her Caduceus Blaster has been outright removed, while a plethora of changes have been made to the Caduceus Staff. While the damage boost has been removed from the secondary fire, Damage Staff now fires Caduceus Blaster projectiles.
