One Helldivers 2 Trick Provides Additional Air Support For Free

players who find themselves constantly running out of Stratagems need not fear as the community has discovered a way of calling in air support for free. In order to push back the hordes of Automatons and Terminids besieging the galaxy, Helldivers need more than just their standard-issue firearms; to really stand a chance, they've got to call in the big guns. The problem with that is that these Strategems all work on a cooldown meaning it's possible to be caught out without the ability to call in additional support.

Over on Reddit, user Beginning-Judge-3419 shared a video explaining how Helldivers can now call in air support for free and all it requires is summoning an extraction and taking a bit of a hike.

The footage reveals that players can call in Pelican One and simply leave the extraction zone to have the powerful space shuttle hover in place and continually bombard approaching enemies with gunfire; the best part is that this strategy requires zero resources. It seems like Pelican One will stick around until a Helldiver eventually gets on board so it should theoretically be possible to keep him around for lengthy periods of time.

While there may not be much in the way of characterization, Pelican One has earned a special place in the hearts of players. The game's forums are littered with appreciation posts dedicated to the pilot with many others requesting a way to somehow thank him for his enthusiasm and commitment to his duty. The community often shares stories about Pelican One arriving in the nick of time only to single-handedly destroy a Bile Titan before safely evacuating a squad.

Pelican One may be an iconic part of the franchise but information on the pilot's identity remains scarce. The original game included an achievement titled «Make Frank Kill a Tank!» which was earned by having the shuttle land on a particularly large enemy, suggesting that his name is Frank.
