Starfield Players Can Now Craft One Of The Game's Most Essential Items

players have long questioned why one of the game's most valuable commodities can't be crafted but one fan took it upon themselves to fix the strange problem with an excellently simple mod. As adventurers explore the galaxy, they'll need to contend with all kinds of enemies, and more of than not some kind of gun is the best way of dealing with them. Despite the prevalence and effectiveness of firearms, Bethesda Game Studios didn't include a way for players to craft ammunition, something that's puzzled the community since 's launch.

Fortunately, Novakiin Mods over on Nexus Mod has come up with a solution with the «Shell Shocked» mod that, very simply, adds in the ability to craft any and all vanilla ammo types in . The creator notes that the recipes can all be accessed from an industrial workbench but will remain hidden unless players have unlocked the necessary weapon skill as a way to ensure the UI remains uncluttered. Additionally, AMFBoi states that while the «Shell Shocked» mod was created with "" they would one day like to make a more expansive version that uses custom items.

The community is still perplexed by the fact that Bethesda opted to not include an option for players to craft their own ammo. The mechanic is present in some of the developer's other games like and , leading many to believe it was cut from the sci-fi RPG or never considered a necessary feature. Ammunition is one of the most common items players can either find strewn about the world or loot from bodies, so it's not like there's a major shortage of bullets making the game especially taxing.

Having said that, the ability to craft ammo would make building Outposts significantly more meaningful as a way to replenish a resource that can potentially run out.
