NVIDIA DLSS 3 Is Available Now in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

When I interviewed Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden developer Don't Nod, they told me NVIDIA DLSS 3 support on PC was a possibility. I assumed they meant for a post-launch update, but as it turned out, NVIDIA's Frame Generation technique is already in the game at launch. Indeed, I played the game with DLAA used in combination with Frame Generation and enjoyed great performance throughout the whole playthrough, as noted in my review of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden:

From a technical standpoint, the game is Don't Nod's highest point yet. It's made with Unreal Engine 5, although it does not use its signature features, Lumen and Nanite. However, it can still look great on PC with maxed settings. Granted, there's no dynamic night and day cycle, which probably means the lighting is baked. There's little to complain, though, when the result looks as good as this. Most importantly, the performance is one of the best I've experienced recently in an Unreal Engine title due to the minimal stuttering encountered in my playthrough. I was hopeful that would be the case after my interview with the developers, who were very aware of the long-standing traditions of terrible UE game releases on PC.

NVIDIA DLSS 3 boosts performance in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden by up to 1.8x on average when using a GeForce RTX 40 graphics card, according to NVIDIA. The flagship GeForce RTX 4090 and the brand new RTX 4080 SUPER both surpass 144 FPS at 4K resolution. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER runs Banishers at over 120 FPS, and even owners of the RTX 4070 SUPER can play at over 100 FPS.
