Nintendo Switch 2 Seemingly Entered Mass Production; Should Be Backward Compatible

The Nintendo Switch 2 has seemingly entered full production, judging from some recent findings related to the Japanese company assembler.

As reported on X by David Gibson, Hosiden, the Nintendo assembler, is spending 2 billion yen on production equipment and one billion yen on automation in the third quarter of the current fiscal year for its major customer in amusement, suggesting the system has indeed entered full production.

Commenting on the news on the Gaming Leaks subreddit, well-known insider NateTheHate provided some additional information on the Nintendo Switch 2, confirming that it will be backward compatible with the previous system.

Thankfully, it seems like it won't be long until we finally hear something concrete about the Nintendo Switch 2. Earlier this week, Gamesindustry.biz's Christopher Dring revealed that industry whispers on the console indicate that something related to it is happening this month. While a full-blown reveal is unlikely, there's a good chance we will get the first look at the new system and learn its name.
