Nintendo Switch 2 May Release in the First Half of 2025 for $499

The Nintendo Switch 2 may not be released during the current fiscal year ending in March 2025, but it may still launch in the first half of the year, according to a new report.

Tokyo Security analyst Hideki Yasuda said in a new report that the console should be released in the first half of the year for $499. As such, if the console won't indeed launch in the current fiscal year, it should become available between April and June.

As far as official information goes, very little is currently known about the Nintendo Switch 2, not even its official name. The system will deliver a level of performance not too different from the Steam Deck, although the console's stronger GPU and weaker CPU, compared to Valve's system, will make it run games at a higher resolution but lower framerate. The console is also said to support NVIDIA DLSS and Ray Reconstruction, which should give it an edge in a variety of situations, potentially making it superior to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when it comes to ray tracing.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has yet to be officially revealed. We will let you know more about the system as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
