Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC May Be in the Works, Judging From Some Recent Findings

A Dragon's Dogma 2 DLC expansion seems to be in the works, and its reveal could be edging closer, judging from some recent findings.

As reported on the Gaming Leaks subreddit, there's been some behind-the-scenes activity on Steam. According to the Steam Database, there have been some encrypted DLC updates that have only been affecting the game's main app, as well as multiple updates for an unnamed DLC pack that has been in the works for at least 5 months.

With this type of behind-the-scenes activity, there's usually something cooking, so it could definitely be the same for Dragon's Dogma 2. Still, without an official announcement, we should take everything with a grain of salt.

This month's Tokyo Game Show would be the perfect avenue to show how the Dragon's Dogma 2 project is still alive following the departure of its director Hideaki Itsuno. The first game's Dark Arisen expansion, which turned the whole game into a memorable action RPG with tons of tweaks and improvements, was directed by Kento Kinoshita, who also worked as a lead designer on the sequel, so there's a good chance that he will lead the further development of the game and its potential expansions, and possibly a new entry in the series, from now on.

In its current state, Dragon's Dogma 2 is definitely not the game that should have been. While the experience is fine for the most part, it feels more like a reboot of the original than a proper sequel, with some under-baked features that fail to reach their full potential.
