Nintendo confirms Partner Direct for this week

Nintendo has confirmed that its next Nintendo Direct will take place this week.

The ‘Partner Showcase’ will be held place on Wednesday, February 21 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST.

The show will focus on third-party titles scheduled for release in the first half of this year, rather than games Nintendo currently has in development.

“Watch on-demand via YouTube on 2/21 at 6am PT for around 25 mins of info focused on #NintendoSwitch games coming in the first half of 2024 from our publishing and development partners,” the platform holder said.

Today’s announcement confirmed recent claims that Nintendo’s regular February Nintendo Direct live stream would be a Partner Showcase.

Partner Directs are Nintendo’s digital presentations focused on games from third-party companies.

Fans were already expecting a Nintendo Direct this month since, historically, Nintendo has held one in February for the past five consecutive years.

Nintendo’s shares have dropped in Japan following reports that the successor to the Switch will likely be released in the first quarter of 2025.

A report last week by Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe, which was then backed up by VGC’s own sources, suggested that Nintendo has now told publishers its next console will launch in Q1 2025, instead of late 2024 as had been previously expected.
