New World of Warcraft Noblegarden Easter Toy Takes Six Years to Fully Unlock

The new Duck Disguiser toy added to the Noblegarden event in World of Warcraft takes six years to get all of its color variations. This bizarre unlock process is not account-wide, causing no small amount of frustration among World of Warcraft players.

Noblegarden is World of Warcraft’s in-game event that corresponds to the real-life Easter holiday. This year, to celebrate the addition of ducks in WoW: Dragonflight, Blizzard added a few new duck-themed things to Noblegarden, including a duck holiday storyline, a duck Druid world boss, and several duck rewards, including the Duck Disguiser – a toy that transforms players into one of six different colors of ducklings.

However, fans have been left scratching their heads about one aspect of the Duck Disguiser. The toy itself is an account-wide reward given at the end of the holiday questline, meaning any character can use it. That said, the quest also unlocks one of the six duckling colors when completed. These different variations are not account-wide, meaning players can only earn one during the event, so getting them all requires fans to complete this questline on a single character for six years. Additionally, there is no default option for the toy, so characters who do not complete the quest are unable to choose a disguise – a strange design choice considering WoW's focus on alt-friendliness with Warbands in The War Within.

Initially, fans actually thought this was a bug or a glitch, but World of Warcraft has since confirmed it was intentional. Many players are not happy with the restrictions on this new toy and think all the disguises should simply be unlocked for every character. Luckily, WoW has indicated it is receptive to feedback, so hopefully, the Duck Disguiser will be fixed in the future.
