Intel’s Next-Gen Panther Lake Configurations Revealed: Up To 16 CPU & 12 Xe3 “Celestial” GPU Cores

The core configurations of Intel's next-gen Panther Lake CPUs have been revealed in a new Coreboot patch which shows up to 16 cores.

Intel Panther Lake CPUs Feature Up To 16 CPU Cores & 12 Xe3 GPU Cores For Mobile Platforms

Intel's next-gen Panther Lake CPUs will be the follow-up to the Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake "Core Ultra 200" lineup which will make its first debut in the coming months. The upcoming CPUs will be utilizing three brand new architectures, the Lion Cove P-Cores, Skymont E-Cores, and Xe2 graphics cores. The Panther Lake CPUs will debut as the "Core Ultra 300" lineup and are planned for a 2H 2025 release.

We know a few bits and pieces about Panther Lake so far but it looks like more information on the specific configurations has been revealed in a Coreboot patch which details four different Panther Lake SKUs. It is known that Panther Lake CPUs will leverage Cougar Cove P-Cores and Skymont E-Cores though the Skymont E-Cores featured on Panther Lake will be an optimization or even an update so it is highly likely that we will see the naming of the E-Cores change close to the debut of the chips.

On the GPU side, Intel's Panther Lake CPUs will feature the third major Xe architecture update in the form of Xe3 which is codenamed Celestial and will be the direct follow-up to Xe2 "Battlemage" architecture. Intel's Xe2 architecture will make its first debut on the Lunar Lake SoCs while discrete products are expected to launch later this year.

So coming to the SKUs, there are four chips mentioned in Panther Lake-H and Panther Lake-U flavors. These include the following:

  • PTL-H SKU #1: 4 P-Cores + 8 E-Cores + 0 LP-E Cores + 4 Xe3 Cores (45W)
  • PTL-H SKU #2: 4 P-Cores + 8 E-Cores + 4 LP-E Cores + 12 Xe3 Cores (25W)
  • PTL-H SKU #3: 4 P-Cores + 8 E-Cores + 4 LP-E Cores + 4 Xe3 Cores (25W)
  • PTL-U SKU #1: 4 P-Cores + 0 E-Cores + 4 LP-E Cores + 4 Xe3
