Intel Core Ultra 5 234V “Lunar Lake” CPU Spotted: 8 Cores, 8 Threads, Battlemage “Xe2” iGPU & 3.1 GHz Clock

The first Intel Lunar Lake CPU, the Core Ultra 5 234V, has been spotted within recent firmware drivers and features 8 cores with a Battlemage iGPU.

First Intel Lunar Lake CPU Makes Appearance Under "Core Ultra 200" Branding: Core Ultra 5 234V With 8 Cores & Battlemage "Xe2" Arc iGPU

This is certainly not the first time that we have seen an Intel Lunar Lake-MX chip leak out but it is definitely the first time that we have seen a sample leak under the Core Ultra 200 branding. The same branding is expected to be used by the Arrow Lake family which will be available on the PC desktop and laptop platforms.

The leaked Intel Core Ultra 5 234V chip is an engineering sample that is listed as LNL-M LP5 & falls under the family: 0x6, model: 0xbd, stepping: 0x1. Intel is expected to replace the Family 6 naming convention a few years from now as reported here. As per the leak, the Intel Core Ultra 5 234V is a Lunar Lake-M chip with 8 cores and 8 threads. The chip is based on a four P-Core (Lion Cove) & four E-Core (Skymont) configuration and comes equipped with on-package LPDDR5x memory. The clock speeds for the chip are rated at 2.10 GHz base & 3.10 GHz boost which are preliminary due to the ES nature of this chip.

Following are some of the features of Lunar Lake CPUs:

  • Designed For Thin & Light Notebooks
  • Lion Cove P-Cores & Skymont E-Cores
  • Battlemage "Xe2-LPG" GPU Architecture
  • 4+4 Core Configurations (MX-Series)
  • Up To 64 Execution Units
  • On-Package LPDDR5x Memory
  • Up To 3x Faster NPU Performance Versus Meteor Lake
  • Late 2024 Launch, 2025 Volume

The leak also points out that the Intel Core Ultra 5 234V "Lunar Lake" CPU features the Battlemage "Xe2" iGPU. The specific configuration isn't mentioned but some references such as "64" and "GT1" are made in the log file. The Battlemage Xe2-LPG iGPUs are expected to feature up to 8 Xe-cores so that's up to 64 EUs. But that's not all, it
