Intel Core i9-14900KS Specs Revealed by Tester

The Intel Core i9-14900KS specs have been revealed by a tester who recently ran the unreleased CPU in the OCCT benchmarking and stability tool. This new Intel CPU is designated as a production unit in the benchmark, so the company may be planning to release the i9-14900KS within the coming weeks or months.

Intel is a leading California-based semiconductor manufacturer that releases new desktop CPUs on a yearly basis, with its most recent lineup being the 14th-gen Raptor Lake processors. Launched in October 2023, Raptor Lake CPUs feature a hybrid architecture that leverages the use of performance cores and efficiency cores. Although the architecture may require the need for further optimizations in select PC titles, 14th-gen Intel CPUs offer worthwhile performance in gaming and productivity.

A newly discovered benchmark for the Intel Core i9-14900KS, reported by Videocardz.com, reveals the complete specs for the unreleased CPU. The i9-14900KS features eight performance cores, 16 efficiency cores, and 32 threads, similar to Intel's flagship 14900K CPU. The new CPU also features a higher default TDP (150W) than its predecessors, but it's able to reach a higher maximum turbo clock of 6.2 GHz, which is 200 MHz higher than the 19400K and 19400KF's maximum turbo clock. Moreover, the 14900KS retains a base clock of 3.2 GHz for the CPU's performance cores. The included Intel Smart Cache and L2 Cache appear to be identical to the other 14th-gen i9 CPUs as well.

While running at a power limit of 4000W, the 14900KS draws roughly 409W according to measurements from the OCCT benchmark. However, this scenario is highly unlikely for most PC gamers and enthusiasts, and the 409W max TDP was only sustainable for a short duration.

Intel has not officially announced the i9-14900KS CPU yet, but an announcement is likely to come soon since the test was performed on a production unit. Production units are normally tested by overclockers and reviewers, so PC gamers eager for a new high-end CPU
