Intel Core i9-14900KS CPU Specs Leaked

The next high-end processor from Intel, the Core i9-14900KS, is confirmed by sources to have a staggering 6.2GHz boosted clock speed, making it the highest boost clock speed available on the market. The upcoming Intel CPU will also not be a cheap processor, as estimated figures will likely require some serious cash from consumers.

In February, some benchmarks for the upcoming Intel Core i9-14900KS revealed that the upcoming CPU from Intel would be one of the most powerful to date. These benchmarks reported that the 14900KS would not only have the 6.2GHz boosted clock speed, but also up to 24 CPU cores divided into 8 power cores and 16 efficiency cores, a 36MB L3 cache, and a total power draw (TDP) of up to 150W. The boosted clock speed is 200Mhz more than the i9-14900K, another processor in Intel's lineup of processors that can be overclocked. Though the California-based tech giant had not officially revealed the 14900KS CPU at the time of writing, that has not stopped ongoing speculation about the upcoming processor.

However, another report has corroborated previous benchmarks and reported that the release of the 14900KS may come sooner rather than later. According to VideoCardz, a Canadian retailer called DirectDial corroborated previous reports that the 14900KS CPU would have the same specs previously reported and that the CPU is listed on backorder on their website. While no release date for the 14900KS is confirmed, the fact that the CPU is on backorder indicates an official release is imminent. Just like its 14900K predecessor, the upcoming 14900KS would require a sufficient motherboard such as a Z790 for users to take full advantage of the CPU's unlocked power cores.

DirectDial also stated that the Intel Core i9-14900KS would retail for as much as 1,004 CAD. At the time of writing, 1,004 CAD would be approximately $740 in the US. By comparison, the cheapest 14900K is currently discounted down to $545 on Amazon, which would make the 14900KS nearly 30% more
