‘I’ve come home to PC and console’: Peter Molyneux unveils new god game Masters of Albion

Masters of Albion, a new game from Peter Molyneux, has been revealed during Opening Night Live.

The game is being developed by ex-Fable devs, as well as ex-Media Molecule boss Mark Healey, according to Molyneux, and is entirely self-funded. The game’s announcement trailer can be viewed below. No release date was given.

The game, which according to Molyneux takes elements from all of his previous work, is descroned as an “open-world God game.”

“Navigate your way through intrigue and plot,” reads the game’s Steam page. “Kings come and go, lords shake you by the hand then stab you in the back, and the people work like dogs and are treated no better.

“Gifted god-like, ancient powers, you face an enemy the likes of which have not been seen in hundreds of years. Magic is returning to the hills and halls of Albion, threatening to tear down the very foundations of society. Unravel the mystery of the mages, defeat the enemy that lurks in the night and conquer a sorcery that could kill us all.”

Speaking during Gamescom Opening Night Live on Tuesday, Molyneux said Maters of Albion was the creator ‘coming home’ after a period spent focused on mobile games.

“After messing around on mobile – what the hell was I doing? – I thought to myself, I need to come home to PC and console. So I looked at Dungeon Keeper… I’ve taken some things from Black & White, I’ve done the same with Fable, and this is what I’m showing tonight.”
