Helldivers 2 Players Are Getting Kicked for Not Using Meta Loadouts

Some Helldivers 2 players are confronting the possibility of being kicked from games for not using certain loadouts during matches. The new sci-fi shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios launched earlier this month, and it's already become a massive hit among fans of co-op combat. Helldivers 2 gives gamers a chance to team up to complete exciting missions while blasting alien bugs and robots, and this formula is proving quite popular so far.

As with other co-op games featuring customization options for builds and loadouts, a meta has quickly developed in the Helldivers 2 community. Fans who have already sunk dozens of hours into the title are discussing different weapons and stratagems and debating which combinations work best. A quick search can uncover arguments for the best Helldivers 2 solo build and the best loadouts for various team compositions as well. Unfortunately, some are using these meta arguments to justify excluding others from their teams.

On Reddit, a user going by Gilmore75 shared a post they found on the Helldivers 2 Steam forum in which a player advocated kicking others from groups if they don't have the right meta builds. The Steam poster calls for barring anyone from upper level pickup games (PUGs) if they commit any of a long list of meta faux pas that they enumerate. Their grievances include failing to bring a Rail Gun or Grenade Launcher, using the incorrect Breaker gun, or picking the wrong stratagems. Among those they list as stratagems worthy of a kick is the Guard Dog, which is among the best early game Helldivers 2 stratagems, but arguably less effective at higher difficulties.

It seems that this sentiment isn't receiving much support in the community, based on the response on Reddit. More than a few fans stated that this view isn't one that they want to be associated with.
