Helldivers 2 Has Added 2 New Stratagems

Helldivers 2 has dropped two brand-new Stratagems in the game, giving players a couple of new options to help gamers fight off the Terminid and Automaton hordes on the battlefield. While Helldivers 2 already features plenty of ways to take down enemies, every bit of support helps.

Stratagems in Helldivers 2 are power-ups that players can call in using a series of button inputs. Players select their Stratagems at the start of every mission, and must try to use them at the perfect time to help the team complete the map's objectives. Stratagems come in different shapes and sizes, ranging from support weapons and sentries, all the way to enormous airstrikes. Some are better than others in terms of the Helldivers 2 meta, but there's no doubt that players can have great fun with each and every one of them.

The new Helldivers 2 Stratagems have arrived in-game, allowing players to make use of the new LAS-99 Quasar Cannon and the MG-101 Heavy Machine Gun on the battlefield. The Tweet confirming the addition mentioned that the two new support Stratagems are made «for use against the Automaton horde,» so they come at the perfect time. With the current Major Order in Helldivers 2 being centered around fighting the Automatons rather than the Terminids, the new Stratagems will hopefully prove to be essential choices during this period.

Although Helldivers 2 has had plenty of fresh content since its release, fresh Stratagems have been difficult to come by. The Exosuit Mechs in Helldivers 2 was the most recent Stratagem release prior to the LAS-99 Quasar Cannon and MG-101 Heavy Machine Gun, but it makes sense that Arrowhead Game Studios is taking its time with these. At their most powerful, Stratagems have the potential to change the entire meta of the game, so the developer has to make sure there's no major power creep taking place with new releases. So far, the Stratagems have been well-balanced, and hopefully, this continues in the future.

The hype for Helldivers 2 remains enormous,
