Grand Theft Auto 6 Map Estimated to Be Over Two Times Bigger Than GTA V

The Grand Theft Auto 6 map could be over two times bigger than its predecessor, judging from an ongoing mapping project.

The latest update of the GTA VI - Vice City & Leonida State Mapping Project, a community project that is attempting to recreate the yet-to-be-revealed map for the latest entry in the series using the currently available information and Rage Engine units for measurements, further developed the map's recreation, highlighting how it should have a landmass of 125 square kilometers, and thus be 2.55 times the size of the Grand Theft Auto V map.

Not much is known about Grand Theft Auto 6, as Rockstar Games has only released a single cinematic trailer to date, which provided a quick look at Vice City and the game's main characters, Jason and Lucia. From this trailer alone, however, it is easy to see how the game will be among the best-looking open-world games of the current console generation, as multiple comparisons highlighted how more advanced the game's visuals look compared to the visuals of Red Dead Redemption 2, a game that still looks stunning years after its release.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version has yet to be announced, but there's little doubt the next entry in the series will eventually be brought over to PC, considering how both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 did launch on PC some time after their console debut.
