Gamescom Opening Night Live will include new game announcements

Gamescom Opening Night Live will include new game announcements, as well as updates on previously revealed titles.

That’s according to show host and producer Geoff Keighley, who used X on Tuesday to tease plans for next week’s event.

Some of the previously announced games set to be featured include Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, Marvel Rivals and Dune Awakening,” he said.

“Yes, there will be new game announcements,” Keighley confirmed in a follow-up post.

His last major gaming showcase, June’s Summer Game Fest live event, largely focused on previously announced games scheduled for release this year.

Opening Night Live will take place on August 20, with the main Gamescom event running from August 21-25 in Cologne, Germany. Keighley’s kick-off show will be streamed live at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST / 8pm CEST.

THQ Nordic has already confirmed plans to reveal a new game from Little Nightmares developer Tarsier Studios during Opening Night Live.

Keighley previously said that the show will include the first look at gameplay from Don’t Nod’s Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, and a new trailer for Warhorse Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 too.
