Fortnite Considering Big Changes to Its Crew Subscription

A Fortnite survey has revealed that Epic Games is considering new benefits for its monthly Crew subscription, including early access to Shop cosmetics, more Crew-exclusive items, free access to mid-season event passes, and much more. Fortnite Crew is a $12 per month Fortnite membership that already gives users various benefits.

This month's offerings for Fortnite Crew members include the monthly Crew pack, 1,000 V-Bucks, free membership for the current battle pass, and more. March's Crew pack features the Katt skin, Ro-boy back bling, and Carver Pickaxe. Subscribers are also given Rocket Pass Premium for Rocket League, which just launched its newest season. While these are already solid benefits, it seems that subscribers could see additional upgrades in the future.

Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey put together a summary of the recently leaked benefits possibly coming to Crew in the future. The most notable one is probably early access to certain Item Shop cosmetics, some of which would be freely equipable for a limited time. Additional benefits include exclusive Crew quests with rewards, an XP multiplier, an exclusive lobby podium, access to advanced battle royale statistics, monthly coupons, access to event mini-passes, and a profile flair. It's likely that only a small selection of these potential benefits will make their way to Crew, if at all. The survey asked users to pick their five favorite benefits out of at least 16 options, so it's clear that Epic is trying to zero in on the most sought-after ones.

One of Epic's main focuses for Fortnite is ensuring that as many users as possible are spending money within the free-to-play game, a revenue stream that is required to maintain Fortnite's large scale. While battle passes and the Item Shop are the more obvious ways that Fortnite pulls this off, Crew could turn into a big moneymaker as well if it manages to pull in more casual fans with tempting benefits.
