Fixes are on the way for major Palworld bugs including lost save data

Pocketpair has said it’s working to fix several “serious” Palworld bugs.

In an update published on X, the company said its support team had been inundated with queries about the title, which has been a breakout success since its early access release for PC and Xbox last Friday.

Lost save data, the inability to play multiplayer, and inaccessible servers are among the biggest issues Pocketpair is working to address.

“Currently, we have received over 50,000 inquiries,” it said. “We sincerely apologize for the delay in response from our support team.

“The development team is aware of serious bugs that are occurring, such as being unable to enter servers, unable to play multiplayer, and losing saved data, and are currently working on fixing them.

“We will share information about the fixes for these issues as soon as possible.”

Pocketpair also said that save data from single-player and co-op games may be able to be restored from backup.

According to the studio, Palworld has already sold over five million copies.

It has also racked up the third highest peak concurrent number of Steam players for any game in the service’s history, at almost 1.6 million.

Palworld is described by its creator as an “action-adventure survival game” in which players can battle and capture Pals to use for base building, traversal, and combat.

However, the game’s success ignited discourse around perceived similarities between its character designs and those of the Pokémon series.

And on Monday, the game’s director and Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe published a response to allegations of plagiarism. While he did not deny any influence from Pokémon, he said the game’s artists had received online abuse and called for it to stop.
