Final Fantasy XVI Won’t Take Much Longer to Release on PC; Playable Demo, Complete Edition With DLC Confirmed

Final Fantasy XVI won't take much longer to release on PC, according to what the game's producer said in a new interview.

Speaking with Famitsu, Producer Naoki Yoshida commented on the PC version of the game, saying that development is proceeding smoothly, although there's still some optimization work to be made to the game's version that supports the two DLC expansions. While he couldn't confirm a release window, Yoshida-san said that we won't have to wait for a year for the game, and it will likely be released shortly after its official announcement, as he thinks long marketing cycles are not well suited for the PC market.

While expected, Naoki Yoshida also confirmed that there will be a Final Fantasy XVI demo on PC that will allow players to test out how the game runs on their machine before purchase. Additionally, Square Enix will release a complete edition of the game on PC that will include both expansions.

Final Fantasy XVI will be expanded next month with The Rising Tide expansion, which will include a new ally, a new area called Mysidia, the new Eikon Leviathan, and the Kairos Gate endgame content. The game will also get updated next month with new QoL improvements like remappable controls, swapping between different skill loadouts and more.

Final Fantasy XVI is now available on PlayStation 5 worldwide. Learn more about the game by checking out Kai's review.
