Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 to Feature More Combat Freedom and a Potentially Different Experience

The third and final entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake series may end up being a very different game than its predecessors, judging from some recent statements from the development team.

Speaking in a new episode of Inside Square Enix focusing on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, battle director Teruki Endo revealed how he is thinking about how to give players even more freedom, suggesting a further push towards an action-based combat system, a push that was already evident in the INTERmission expansion and Rebirth with the inclusion of Precision Guard and improved aerial combat.

It's not only combat that will likely feel different in the third part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake over its predecessors. Director Naoki Hamaguchi commented on the conclusion of the series, saying that they want to give the fans a different kind of gameplay experience than what they had in the previous two games, suggesting that even the open-world formula introduced in Rebirth is going to be shaken up to offer this different type of experience.

No matter what, it will be a few years before we can experience the conclusion of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, as it will take at least three more years to come out. Given Rebirth's ending, it will be very interesting to see which direction the story will take in the third and final part of the series and how everything will be wrapped up in a game that promises to be epic.

The second entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, is now available on PlayStation 5. You can learn more about it by checking out Kai's review.
