Final Fantasy Fans, Definitely Do The Protorelic Quests In FF7 Rebirth

Fans of the series should pay special attention to 's Protorelic quests. Technically labeled as Phenomenon Intel on the map, these quests are better known by the names of the mysterious artifacts they're centered around: the so-called Protorelics. These technological antiques are highly sought after, especially by resident expert Chadley, who can reverse engineer them into useful items. Completing Protorelic quests also contributes to the gang's overall Party Level in FF7 Rebirth.

But racking up those Phenomenon Intel quests isn't always fun. They always involve multiple stages. They may include repetitive fights against recurring bosses, require difficult puzzles with obscure answers, or just sit in difficult-to-find places on 's map. There's a worthy reward at the end of it, but it's best appreciated by veteran players.

Once a player completes most of the Phenomenon Intel quests in, they'll be treated to a secret boss fight against Gilgamesh, a recurring enemy in the series. Gilgamesh's appearance is teased from the completion of the very first Protorelic quest line: the stolid swordsman is seen brooding over a disturbance in the force. He's waiting on a secluded island for a worthy opponent, and hopes this could be the one.

Gilgamesh first debuted as a boss in. A born warrior with the ability to sprout auxiliary arms, he guards the game's protagonists when they're thrown in prison by the evil warlock Exdeath. He challenges them again a further three times before finally coming to respect them, and nearly joining their side before getting embarrassed and running away.
