Fans Petition Insomniac To Bring Spider-Man Multiplayer Game Back From The Dead

A new fan petition to bring back Insomniac’s canceled multiplayer game has been gathering thousands signatures as enthusiasts are exposed to leaked trailers of the title that has been fully discarded. The game that was being developed for PlayStation consoles was abruptly canceled and the leaked footage online sparked outrage among fans who wanted to experience a bit of the in an interactive medium. The information about the canceled was obtained as part of the giant Insomniac leaks in late 2023.

With the reveal of the first leaked trailer and now a second video, as was reposted by a user on X, the anticipation for the game that never was is growing – so much so that fans started an official campaign to ask the development studio to restart the project. A petition called “” on Change.org was created this Tuesday, March 12, and already has over 1,500 signatures at the time of writing. The only goal of the campaign is to have Insomniac bring back the canceled game.

The general idea of the canceled title was to serve as an interactive multiplayer experience delving into the. The game would have featured a multiplayer campaign in which five different players, each controlling their own Spider-persona, would team up to fight the menace imposed by the villainous group known as the Sinister Six. The superhero team in would be composed of the most popular Spider-people, namely Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Ben Reilly, and Miguel O’Hara.

According to the leaks, there would also be a deep customization feature in the multiplayer game, which in turn would allow players to create very distinct Spider-personas from their online companions. This would also feed into the general lore of the, where the most varied types of Spider superheroes exist. Despite the main story content, the leaks show that would have been a live-service title, meaning it would rely on constant updates to add more content.
