F1 Manager 2024 will let players create their own team this summer

Frontier Developments has announced F1 Manager 2024.

The third annual release in the UK studio’s official management series will arrive this summer for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

With a suggested retail price of £29.99 / $34.99 / €34.99, the game’s headline new feature is its Create A Team mode.

“Customising elements of their team, players can curate their creativity to bring their dream designs to life, whilst negotiating sponsorship opportunities to ensure a steady stream of income to fuel their ambition,” said Frontier.

“Identifying up-and-coming talent to rise up the grid order or cherry-picking the biggest stars in the sport in the pursuit of immediate success, the choice is theirs to make before the covers are lifted from their championship challenger.

“Critical to their team’s lasting success will be how Team Principals manage their development off the track, designing new car upgrades and driving innovation in the pursuit of immediate performance or investing in an advanced headquarters to create a legacy and attract the envy of rivals.”

F1 Manager 2024 will also introduce “a new mentality system for drivers and staff, bringing individual personalities and demands to the fore as players aim to maintain their team’s motivations amidst the pursuit of glory and challenge for the sport’s biggest prizes”.

Frontier announced in March 2020 that it had secured the rights to make a series of F1 management games.

The licence provided it with the rights for four F1 seasons (2022 to 2025), subject to the achievement of certain financial performance thresholds.

It said at the time that the F1 partnership created “an exciting opportunity to bring together Frontier’s experience and capability, including its powerful and versatile Cobra game engine, to the management-rich environment of the globally popular and ever-changing world of F1”.

The rights for F1 racing sim games is currently held by Codemasters. The EA-owned studio announced
