Everything New In The Minecraft 1.21 Update (Tricky Trials)

The newest update for has been titled “Tricky Trials,” leaning heavily into the implementation of new challenges this update will add to the game for players. Like all new Minecraft updates, this brings new enemies, new crops, and new special items to uncover and aid in players’ journeys – though Mojang has yet to spill all the details just yet.

Tricky Trials will be released for all players on June 13, but those who want to try out some of these upcoming features early just need toenable Snapshots if playing on the Java version or Previews/Beta on the Bedrock version. Even without the full picture, all of these new additions make the 1.21 update one to keep an eye on.

Tricky Trials will release simultaneously on 's Bedrock and Java Editions, though there are other differences between the two.

Armor enchantments in Minecraft are essential for taking on the game's tougher challenges, but there are some to look out for first.

It seems much of the new content the 1.21 update contains will be centered around the Trial Chambers. These dungeon-like buildings will have traps and some intense combat for players to overcome – and are also built with some of the new blocks featured in the update. They're procedurally generated, meaning it's near impossible to encounter the same Trial Chamber twice.

These trials can be tackled alone or with friends – though, considering the foes players will face within their walls are some of the more deadly ones, thanks to this new update, it’ll be easier to tackle with a cohort of companions. These trials are meant to be difficult (as implied by the name), but those who dare to venture in will find plenty of loot waiting for them.
