Dragon's Dogma 2 Update is Good News for Xbox Players

The latest Dragon's Dogma 2 update brings exciting news for Xbox players. Previously, PlayStation 5 and Steam users received this Dragon's Dogma 2 update, which introduced the ability to start a new game with existing save data and options to enhance visuals and frame rate. Xbox Series X and S players can now look forward to these same enhancements.

Dragon's Dogma 2 was recently released and quickly won over the public and critics. The cult RPG is a sequel to Dragon's Dogma and took 12 years to hit the shelves. However, despite breaking records and garnering significant numbers of concurrent players on Steam, Dragon's Dogma 2 wasn't free of criticism. Players complained about the difficulty of starting a new game after saving data, constant frame rate drops, and microtransactions. Capcom responded to players' backlash and promised future updates.

Honoring its promises, the publisher released Dragon's Dogma 2 updates on all platforms, including the most recent patch for Xbox Series X and S players. The update addresses the most common player complaints, such as microtransactions, frame rate issues, and the hassle of starting a new game. On Xbox Series X and S, there's a new option to switch Motion Blur on and off and limit the frame rate to 30 FPS, while the option to turn Ray Tracing on or off is only available on Xbox Series X. However, Capcom adds a fine print in the patch notes mentioning that these options should not significantly affect Dragon's Dogma 2's frame rate and that further refinements are planned.

The update also expands the number of «Art of Metamorphosis» items available at the Pawn Guilds to 99, fixes some bugs and text displays, and unlocks the quest for players to acquire their own home earlier. These updates mark the first wave of Dragon's Dogma 2 patches since its release.
