Dragon's Dogma 2 Planning To Add New Game Option, Frame Rate Capping, and More

Future updates for Dragon's Dogma 2 will introduce multiple save slots, frame rate cap options, and more. Developer and publisher Capcom previously told players that it was trying to resolve the title's various problems.

Dragon's Dogma 2 received positive reviews from critics following its March 22 release, with many praising the action RPG's impressive visuals, captivating world, and emergent gameplay systems. The RE Engine-powered game's scale, however, comes at a heavy cost, as many players have reported encountering performance issues when playing. In light of these problems, it has been revealed that Dragon's Dogma 2 will receive several new features in upcoming updates, some of which should provide players with an improved gameplay experience.

In a recent post, the official Dragon's Dogma Twitter account announced that future updates for all versions of Dragon's Dogma 2 will add the option to start a new game even when save data already exists, among other things. Upcoming Steam updates, meanwhile, will improve the quality when Nvidia's DLSS Super Resolution technology is enabled. An issue where models appeared low-quality under some specific settings will also be fixed via Steam updates. These changes would greatly benefit players who want to optimize the PC version of Dragon's Dogma 2.

Additionally, patches for the Sony PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S ports of the game will add toggles for motion blur and ray tracing, as well as add the option to choose between a variable frame rate or one that is capped at 30 FPS. The announcement noted that the added options for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S ports of the game will not affect the frame rate significantly and FPS improvements are planned for future updates of Dragon's Dogma 2.

Despite being hailed as one of the best RPG games in recent memory, Dragon's Dogma 2 has been review bombed due to its performance issues and microtransactions. The game currently has a Mixed overall rating on Steam, while it has a 5.7 out
