DLC-Sized Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Adds And Entire New Roguelike Game Mode

players itching for some kind of new experience in the Forgotten Realms should definitely check out this mod which manages to transform the RPG into an action-packed roguelike. While Larian Studios' sprawling game may not initially appear to function like a randomly-generated roguelike, it certainly has the variety needed to make the genre truly sing. With hundreds of different locations, items, and enemies, it stands to reason that all of these factors could be swirling together to create an experience that rewards flexibility and careful strategy.

Over on Nexus Mods, creator Hippo0o shared their excellent «Trials of Tav» mod which overhauls by adding in a standalone roguelike game mode. Accessible through the menu, the system will balance itself according to the party's level as players can explore and battle their way across 38 maps and 250+ enemies. Each round will reward new loot and abilities that can be unlocked for future runs, meaning players are incentivized to play as much as possible to increase their pool of resources and ensure they always have something viable for the next challenging encounter.
