Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

THQ Nordic has announced Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X

Featuring 4K visuals, ray tracing, enhanced lighting and shadows, improved loading times, and haptic feedback on PS5, the upgraded title will hit current-gen consoles on October 15, 2024.

It will be priced at $29.99 / €29.99, but players who pre-order the game on PS5 will receive a 50% discount, while customers who already own the title for PS4 will receive a free upgrade to the current-gen version.

There’s also a 50% discount on Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition for Xbox One until October 14, and owners of this version will automatically unlock the new features of the Xbox Series S/X version upon release via Smart Delivery.

There have been three main games in the Darksiders series to date, with each putting the players in the role of a different horseman of the apocalypse – War in Darksiders, Death in Darksiders II and Fury in Darksiders III.

There was also a top-down spin-off called Darksiders Genesis released in 2019, in which players controlled the fourth horseman, Strife.

At the end of its THQ Nordic Digital Showcase last month, the company teased that a new Darksiders game is on the way.

“We would like to state that the Darksiders teaser of our 2024 digital showcase is NOT in reference to the subsequent announcement of Darksiders II Deathinitive for PS5 and Xbox Series S|X,” it said today.
